Find your story
It’s not enough to have a good idea. People remember you for a story they connect with. I can work with individuals or teams to understand an idea and make it memorable. The end result is a narrative and/or elevator pitch that can guide all your other communications.
Communications strategy
So you’ve figured out your story, now what? You need a strategy that makes you stand out. I can help you develop a comprehensive strategy and timeline for execution, and craft messaging for your many audiences.
Project management
Communicating effectively takes time and ongoing attention. I can help you define and source content, edit, create, and manage new and existing channels, and make sure your story is getting told to the audiences you care about.
Internal communications
Your internal audiences are the strongest advocates for your brand. If they don’t understand your vision they can’t help you achieve it. I can help you create tools to tell your story internally, or develop one-time messaging for critical moments.
Individual and group training
Communicating well is a skill you can learn. I offer individual media training for high stakes interviews or group training to level up the entire team. I can also train groups on a pitch deck to make sure the whole team is effective in telling your story.
My story
I’m Amy Adams, a former science nerd (genetics) turned science journalist turned strategic communications pro.
In my more than 20 year career I’ve helped organizations tell stories that matter through news stories, press releases, feature stories, FAQs, social media, websites, video, white papers, executive communications, blogs, presentations, internal communications, talking points, media responses, elevator pitches, newsletters, and more.
I specialize in distilling complex ideas into compelling prose and love steering a multifaceted communication to its successful conclusion.
I also get that “yesterday” really is sometimes the deadline. When speed is needed I can roll up my sleeves and help you in a communications crunch.
